Kitchen and bathroom faucets are rather mundane. They are the means by which you can order up hot or cold water at a moment’s notice. But select the right faucet and you’ve added a sparkle to the room, an artistic bit of flair that catches the eye.
Product choices these days can be staggering with an ever-increasing number of items of any kind in the marketplace. It’s easier to sit at home on the computer and pull up designers and see what catches your eye than it is to drive to several big-box stores and look at their stock supplies and catalog order possibilities, not to mention you’ll find many more interesting choices from the World Wide Web, like these:

Cifial makes the L-Spout Vessel Bowl Filler faucet that comes in eight different finishes and has two different handle choices. The tall flared spout chamber is mirrored on either side by matching handles that are nearly as tall, which are easy to reach and operate with a minimum of motion. While the name indicates that this faucet is exclusively for vessel vanity sink bowls, it can actually be used for other vanities as well, provided that they are not shallow, otherwise the height of the faucet will cause a wet-splashy mess. Designcomes at a price, though, and this faucet will run hot and cold for about $650.
Price Pfister has the Ashfield vanity faucet, which comes in five different finishes and your choice of traditional height or vessel bowl height. This faucet has a lot of charm and is reminiscent of the old-fashioned outdoor water pumps, but with a much more attractive design. The water control is in the form of a lever atop the faucet spout and water flows out of the top of the open spout similar to a maple tree tap. Remembering the good ol’ days = priceless. This faucet = $380.
Lacava has come out with a most unique design for vessel bowl sink faucets: the floor-mounted faucet. Your vessel bowl can be placed anywhere within your lavatory now and all you need is a bit of floor space for the faucet - no more plumbing pipes taking up space inside your vanity cabinet. This designer faucet is simply called Arch and has a sleek rectangular shape that stands on the floor and reaches straight upward to pillar over the vessel bowl and arches around to offer water into the vessel. The control is a simple wall-mounted lever. The Arch can also be ordered as a tub faucet as well. The design concept is genius and the price even more awe-inspiring at over $3000.

Kohler makes the Karbon kitchen sink faucet which looks a little like a robot, but is very stylish and highly functional. The singularity of this faucet is that it is multi-jointed, allowing the user to fold, bend, extend, or otherwise place the spout pretty much anywhere they desire it to be, at any height. The Karbon faucet comes in a choice of eight different finishes and each finish has the option of matching-finished joints or joints of a different finish. The faucet can be countertop mounted or wall mounted and has a single lever water controller that sits separately to the side of the jointed spout. The ability to be double jointed at your kitchen sink will set you back $865.
Brizo has designed the Floriano kitchen sink faucet, which, as its name indicates, looks an awful lot like a flower - or a tulip to be more exact. The simple, yet beautiful faucet looks rather ordinary in function, yet its sleek seems actually allow it to become a pull-out wand for reaching out-of-reach areas or to use as a sprayer. The wand has a twist and lock mechanism that keeps it in place when not in use. The Floriano comes in either a chrome or stainless finish and has a single control lever mounted to its side, which gives the flower stem a single petal appearance. A dozen roses for your spouse will wither and die, but for $510 you can get this everlasting flower.
The modern products for bathroom, laundry and kitchen are nothing short of amazing. Once we colored our bathroom with bright towels, now it is the faucet that take center stage.
