Remember those sci-fi movies of the 80s and 90s about life in the new millennium? Well, they were right. Sort of.
The Sphere Hotel is an orb, or pod if you will, that will be situated on a cliff face between Dubai and Abu Dhabi in the UAE. The location is roughly 300 meters from the beach on an artificial island that is accessible by bridge.
The concept is to provide hotel guests with complete
isolation and solitude, a place where they can leave their worldly worries
behind and harmonize with nature… or a fake island paradise.
The Sphere Hotel was created by Milla Rezanova, a Russian designer who graduated with honors from Rhodec, a British school of design in London. Her concept was to design a space where objects, light, color and architecture exist in organic interconnection with human beings.
Would you consider
this “organic interconnection?”

Oh Dubai is going to sink one day with all the weight above it and around it. Okay one outstanding building in a region is cool, two is reasonable, but Dubai is littered with gregarious buildings that clash and yell each other for competition.
