Do you ever feel like you’re running around in circles? Every day is like that for residents of this unusually circular home in Galapagar, Spain, but in a good way.

The house is a vast spiral partly suspended in the air, with part of it resting on the earth and rising up into the atmosphere until it reaches to the far side of the spiral and can, once again, rest. Designed by Subarquitectura, a Spanish architecture company, the home quickly became known as the 360 House because of the roundabout way they set the home on the site.

The inspiration for the shape came from the natural slant of the home’s landscape. The slant leant itself so gracefully that you barely notice how the span actually lifts off the ground, and yet it is such an unusual feature that you can’t help but notice it.

Adding to the intrigue and mystery of the house is the stark color contrast. While the exterior looks mostly made of black roofing shingles, the interior is comprised mostly of snow-white walls, which offer a clear distinction between the inner sanctum and the exterior, especially when you’re on the outside looking in.

To one side of the house, the shape forms a small courtyard surrounded on all sides by the house itself. Total privacy and solitude can be found in this tiny oasis. Located outside of the home’s spiral, the landscape yields to a large concrete patio and luxurious swimming pool, oddly enough in the traditional shape of a rectangle.
