Spatial Insanity: The Vulcan Stove

Storage space or stove? Closet or fireplace? Whatever this thing is, it’s awesome. If your living quarters are better suited for a small animal, you could combine a new stovetop with shelving space for your belongings and finally have room to breathe. It may sound strange, but French industrial designer Arthur Senant has made this quirky concept into a reality. He calls it the Vulcan Stove, aka “Hell’s Machine.”

This design is a state-of-the-art stove that capitalizes on sleek design and clean lines. These clean lines come in the form of white metal sheet shelves that can be rearranged to fit the owner’s needs. So, while simultaneously keeping your toes toasty and recreating the ambiance offered by a fireplace, this little wonder can also store books, dishes, or the useful collection of firewood. And if that doesn’t offer enough space, there are drawers underneath the fire pit as well.
