Located in a suburb south of Oslow in Norway, Edge House is the brainchild of Jarmund/Vigsnæs AS Architects.

More windows than fiber cement board construction, what Edge House lacks in privacy, it certainly makes up for in first impressions.

Nothing short of architectural genius, the angular home is as edgy as it gets. The clients, Mona Jensen and Moren Isachsen, wanted to both maintain the integrity of their roost’s position above the valley and forgo the costs of blasting through the mountain, and the architects were able to make that happen. The spectacular design utilizes steel columns to uphold the portion of the house that overhangs the available land on the east side so the construction could be made larger.

A subterranean entrance carved in stone unites the home with its natural surroundings.

Angled windows perched over long, low bench seating are set in birch plywood.

Scandinavian simplicity informs the bath space.

So gorgeous!
