It seems only loose-fitting that a trendy designer jeans store would also host a gallery installation with the paradoxical title of Nature Factory. The Diesel Denim company has two signature stores in New York City and Tokyo, and since there only seems to be five or six pairs of thousand-dollar jeans in the entire shop, they have plenty of extra space to host rotating gallery installations by influential artists.

Japanese conceptual artist Makoto Tanijiri chose the always-popular medium of PVC pipe to construct this artificial forest of curving and snaking tubes running hither and slither throughout the building.

The labyrinth of pipes overhead creates a subterranean atmosphere, as well as the sense of impending collapse, which always enhances the retail shopping experience.
