Kayla Albert
A freelance writer by trade and an artist at heart, Kayla is a spastic go-getter who likes to believe she is on the cutting edge of new trends in any arena. When she isn’t playing with words, she is most likely enthralled by some horrific reality show or reading a new self-help book. Before joining the fantastic CalFinder Remodeling team, Kayla worked towards her bachelor’s degree in English Writing from the University of Colorado at Denver. She is committed to bringing a quirky edge to remodeling ideas and home design.
Dan Harding
Dan has torn down (and rebuilt) walls throughout the USA. His remodeling career began in a basement in Michigan where, while doing demolition work for a friend, he met his first remodeling contractor. From there a love of work, travel, and remodeling led him to Oregon at the height of the building boom. Beside a love for hands-on labor and the art of building, Dan enjoys reading and writing and holds a Bachelor's degree in English from Michigan State University. It is this unique combination of trade skills and a passion for the written word that brings Dan to the Best of Remodeling.
S. Kim Henson
Kim has been freelance writing for over two years and especially enjoys working on human interest, home improvement, inspirational and children's stories. When she’s not typing, she and her husband, John, remodel older homes. They’ve kept two of their “projects,” a beach cottage they named “Vitamin Sea,” within walking distance of the ocean, and “Up the Creek,” a cabin that sits alongside a mountain stream. Jennifer Heyns
Life in the countryside of Virginia has made a profound impact on writer/author Jennifer Heyns. While shackled to her laptop happily scribing blogs, articles, and recently, a non-fiction book on healthcare during school hours, she immensely enjoys spending time out in nature with her husband, two boys, and yellow lab. Lynn DeRocco
Lynn is a freelance writer with a BA in journalism from Rutgers University. Her articles appear in consumer and trade magazines, newspapers, and online. Inspired by her love of original art and a talented mother whose own home was showcased in a major decorating magazine, Lynn recently turned her space into a writer's retreat where she can work amid peaceful views and objects she adores.
